Performance tweaks

If the modpack runs badly on your computer, there are several things you can do to improve performance:

  • Close other open applications
  • In the Video Settings menu (Pause menu -> Settings... -> Video Settings...)
    • Reduce the render distance
    • Reduce the entity distance
    • Reduce the particles to Decreased or Minimal
    • Set Clouds to OFF
    • Set Leaves Quality to Fast
    • Use VSync may improve or decrease performance - if Minecraft runs at ~60fps turn it on, if it's lower (e.g. ~30fps) turn it off
    • Fullscreen mode may improve performance
    • Changing Mipmap Levels is unlikely to affect performance unless you have a lot of animated blocks
  • Upgrade to a newer version of Java - Java 19 has been tested and works with this pack
  • If you have enough RAM, increase the amount of RAM allocated to the instance in Prism, by adjusting Minimum memory allocation and Maximum memory allocation in the instance settings (Edit Instance -> Settings)
    • For best performance, keep Minimum memory allocation and Maximum memory allocation the same
    • Your OS uses RAM for file caching and background applications, you need to leave at least 1GB or so
